Offertory Giving in 2024

This year we are asking church members to make a pledge of their regular offertory giving for the next 12 months (March 2024 - February 2025). A pledge is simply letting us know what you have already decided between you and God to give.

Whilst most of us pledge amounts to other financial commitments, including our monthly insurance premiums, our mobile phone plans or our streaming services, we recognise this is a new way of thinking about our church giving. That being the case, we expect you will have some questions about the why and how of pledging.

Below are some questions we expect people may have regarding this change, however please feel free to ask our Churchwardens if you have other questions. You can speak to them in person or email them at wardens@pittwateranglican.church

QUESTIONS ABOUT PLEDGING...

Why are we asking church members to pledge their offertory giving?

Offertory pledging helps us to be intentional in our giving to church, providing a specific time each year to prayerfully assess our offertory giving for the next 12 months (March 2024 - February 2025) and make changes to our giving based on our current circumstances. It may be that you are able to give more than in previous years, or becuase of a change in personal circumstances, need to give less than you have previously been able to. Pledging also provides an opportnuity for those who have not yet committed to offertory giving, to think through God's call on us to be generous with the blessings that God has given us.

Offertory pledging assists our Churchwardens and Parish Council in making wise decisions about the way our church uses the financial assetts God has given us. Knowing what our members have planned to give helps shape our budget and understand how we can maintain or grow the ministry team and minstry initiatives in the years to come.

Is my pledge confidential?

Yes. The pledge forms are entirley anonymous, no one will know what you have decided to give to church.

What if I am unable to fulfill my pledge commitment for the 12 month period?

We understand that circumstances change, and as a consequence your giving may need to change. If this is the case, please let us know what those changes are. This can be done annonymously using the following form, or in writing, delivered through our cash offertory system, whichever you are more comfortable doing.
